
Obesity with a BMI (Body Mass Index) greater than 35 (men) and 34 (women) and a WHR (Waist/Hip Ratio) greater than 1/3 (men) and 1/2 (women).

Obesity with a BMI greater than 33 (men) and 32 (women) associated with one of the following pathologies:
Coronary insufficiency with a history of myocardial infarctus or coronary arterial stenosis evidenced by coronarography or a history of cardiac surgery.
Severe arterial hypertension not responsive to drug treatment. Osteoarthritis of the hip or knee requiring replacement surgery. Registration on an organ transplant list. Sleep apnoea syndrome evidenced by a sleep laboratory. Hard to balance diabetes with Hb A1c above 8%.
