Pink October | Conference “Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention”
As part of Pink October, MONDORF Domaine Thermal welcomes Europa Donna Luxembourg for a conference dedicated to breast cancer awareness and prevention.
The event will take place on Wednesday 14 October 2026, from 12.30 pm to 2 pm.
Free and open to everyone, this conference is aimed at both women and men. It will provide an opportunity to better understand the disease, identify warning signs and learn about the resources available in Luxembourg.
A conference to learn more about breast cancer
Being better informed also means being better equipped to act. During this session, Europa Donna Luxembourg will address the main topics relating to breast cancer in a caring, accessible setting conducive to discussion.
The conference will cover, in particular:
- understanding the main types of breast cancer;
- recognising warning signs;
- learning more about screening and the importance of early diagnosis;
- distinguishing between modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors;
- discovering prevention recommendations;
- identifying resources and support organisations in Luxembourg;
- asking questions of the speakers.
Programme
Understanding warning signs and the importance of screening
The speakers will present key figures and essential information to help participants better understand breast cancer.
Particular attention will be paid to warning signs, organised screening and breast self-awareness. A demonstration using an educational breast model will also introduce observation and self-examination techniques.
The aim is to provide everyone with simple and useful points of reference, without replacing the advice of a healthcare professional.
Adopting the right prevention habits
Prevention will be addressed through lifestyle habits and the recommendations of health authorities:
- physical activity;
- diet;
- stress management;
- reducing risky behaviours, such as smoking and alcohol consumption;
- avoidable and unavoidable risk factors;
- primary and secondary prevention.
This approach fully reflects MONDORF’s commitment to contributing to more sustainable health, based on information, movement, balance and prevention.
Living with and after cancer
The conference will also address support for people affected by the disease, during and after treatment, as well as issues relating to working life, returning to work and the specific needs of people affected within the workplace.
An open question-and-answer session
The event will continue with a question-and-answer session. You will be able to share your questions and concerns in a respectful and informative setting.
Brochures, practical guides and information about local resources will also be available.
